Guillermo Garcia-Manero, M.D.

Dr. Garcia-Manero, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of
the Section of Myelodysplastic Syndromes in the Department of Leukemia at the
University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His area of interest is in the
study of epigenetic alterations in leukemia and in the therapeutic implications
of these alterations. Dr. Garcia-Manero is a leader in the area of hypomethylating
agents and histone deacetylase inhibitors. He graduated from the School of Medicine
of the University of Zaragoza in Spain and trained in internal medicine and hematology-oncology
at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Garcia-Manero
is the author of more than 140 publications.
