Alexander Dobrovic, Ph.D. Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Australia)

Dr. Dobrovic is currently Head of Molecular Pathology Research and Development in the Department of Pathology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and also Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Melbourne.

Dr. Dobrovic graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia with his Ph.D. in Genetics in 1984. He then attended the Institut du Cancer de Montreal, Canada for Postdoctoral training in Molecular Genetics 1984 to 1986 and did further postdoctoral training at the Haematology Department of the Flinders University Medical Centre in Adelaide from 1986-1988.

He has served on the editorial boards of BMC Cancer and BMC Blood Disorders since 2001. He is the convener of the Peter MacCallum international workshop on cancer epigenetics to be held in October 2008.
